Haun Construction was founded in 2017 by Derek Haun after realizing a passion for carpentry and construction. The decade prior, Derek worked with his father setting mobile homes which included building out special roofing projects, small porches, and decks. 

During a lull in mobile home work, sweet friends, Kip and Laura, asked Derek to build a multifaceted deck and pergola on their beautiful home overlooking the Smoky Mountains.  Once Derek finished that project, he knew working for himself and bringing customers’ dreams to life were what he was made to do.  

With the support of his wife, Brandi, Derek shifted focus to building his own construction company that would be customer-centric.

Word of mouth referrals quickly drove business growth.  Derek’s charisma, communication style, and dedication to his craft made him an easy contractor to work with. 

With the construction industry boom of 2019 and 2020, Haun Construction took on our first employees, allowing for growth and added opportunities. In the mix, we obtained licensing, bonding, and insurance.

In the last 6 years, Derek has simultaneously honed his deck building and renovation skills while expanding his construction skill set to other areas. Added specialities now include covered porches, fencing, small home additions, and many other highly desirable construction tasks.

Haun Construction feels fortunate to have been involved with hundreds of projects across East Tennessee. It’s become clear to us that the key to success in this industry is COMMUNICATION. Creating a beautiful and safe space for your family is the goal, but ensuring an easy process is what ensures happy and repeat clients.

We are now a team of 5 – with Derek and Brandi driving the business, and their skilled team making large projects possible.
